Here is the recipe for your substrate, the mixture that will host your mushrooms.
















Substrate
prep time: 30 min
cook time 2 to 3 hours
items: 1/2 pint kerr  jars, available at your local grocer
          *for each jar*
          1/2 cup vermiculite, found at any garden store
          1/4 cup brown rice flour, avalible at any health food store
          1/4 cup bottled water
           pressure cooker
           tin foil
           hammer and nail
 
 Poke 4 holes in jar lids with nail and hammer (fig. 21).  place vermiculite and rice flour in large bowl. sift mixture. add water and mix well. place substrate in 1/2 pint jar until level with bottom of  lid threads (fig.69).  wipe off any leftover material.  fill in remaining space with dry vermiculite. cap lid Loosely and cover with tin foil. fill pressure cooker with water according to directions in manual. place jars in pressure cooker and steam for 30 to 45 min. let jars sit over night in sterile place.
